Abella's Danes

Our Danes are first and foremost beloved family pets.  We got our first Dane, Angus, as a pet and quickly fell in love with the breed.  Our opportunity to acquire our second Dane, Bigson, came when I stumbled across the website for the World's Tallest Dog, a great Dane named Gibson.  As luck would have it, his owner had a beautiful litter of pups at that time.  One of which was Bigson, "the biggest pup she'd ever had" his breeder said.  And he WAS big!  When we brought him home at 13 weeks he was 61 pounds already!  We quickly realized that a dog as beautiful, and sound as Bigson should be bred.  It was also a bonus that he was from the Gibson line, a Meistersinger/Riverwood background.  So we began our search for a strong, healthy bitch to add to the family.  We wanted a euro pup because we really like the strong head and lip they all have, so we found Barbara, Ava's breeder in Germany (who has many Danes abroad!) and waited for our Harlequin girl to become old enough to "ship" to the states.  All 3 of our dogs are very well socialized with children, people, our own ranch animals, cats you name it! They are an absolute joy to live with, and we couldn't imagine a house that wasn't full of Giant dogs!  We are also very excited to see what Bigson and Ava create together!  Since we are a small breeder we will only have the occasional litter, focusing on quality not quantity.
